M38 hood cut out

Post by PDXOR »

When viewing the passenger side of the hood, would someone please tell me what the right hood cut out is for? I know the left one is for the snorkel. Thanks!!!

The two cutouts (actually one large one) are to accommodate the deep water fording kit and the slave receptacle. The slave receptacle helps provide 24v power to the outside of the vehicle for jump starting others,, running accessories, etc. They are in the operations and maintenance manual.

Actually the slave receptacle's primary purpose is to let outside power in for help. Of course it can be used both ways.
