MASTER DISCONECT

Post by supertomp »

Hi fellas, I'm curious here, my m38 has the foot start as it should. Some one originaly took out the on /off switch on the dash and replaced it with a key that absolutely does nothing. What i did is took a napa brand master disconnect swith and changed the lever on it to look as if it had the old style jeep switch lever on it. When i hook this switch up is there anyway to make it kill the engine as well as the power from the battery? right now i have to kill the engine by stalling it (ie.. 3rd gear foot on brake let out on clutch slowly) Any guidance is greatly appreciated here. Thank you everyone.

Just wire it just like the switch in the service manual wiring diagram. You only have two terminals so connect power in # 11 to one terminal and then connect 12 (Ignition) and 27 (Instrument power) and any added accessories to the other terminal.
