Disk interchangable?

Would a M38 and MB/GPW clutch disk be Interchangeable?

From everything I see from the various part suppliers the clutch plates appear to all be interchangable as long as they are the same diameter. But here's what I suspect......you removed your engine.....pulled off the pressure plate cover from the flywheel.....noticed your driven plate was worn somewhat and ordered a replacement. You mated your new driven plate to the old cover plate and now your release fingers are too far forward. This makes sense if somebody had sometime earlier adjusted the release lever adjustment screws to compensate for the worn driven plate. Now when you mate the old cover up to the new (thicker) driven plate it raises the pressure plate which in turn raises the outside end of the release arm, moving the inside end of the arms away from your release bearing. Look in TM9-8015-1 Pg. 135 to 137 Section 123....it describes how to set the adjust screws on the release levers. Good luck.

I think the M151 used the same clutch disk as well. Some one correct me if I am wrong.

Disc yes but the M151 pressure plate was different.
