Brake Lines

Post by Ryan_Miller »

Subject: Brake Lines
Status: Reproduction most common
Sold By: Just about everyone

Review:

Shape/Appearance:
Basic shape is correct, usually shipped slightly wound at straight areas that can be easily straightened. Zinc or Terne coated with no corrosion.

Fit/ Function:
Does require some final fitting, especially at the "S" lines going to the front brake drums. On the "S" lines, I filled them with fine sand, bent them to fit and then cleaned them well before installation. These lines have very tight bends that can kink when you are doing the final fitting.

Summary:
Overall fit was as good as can be expected, but with that said, you will have to do some final fitting of your own.

Rating: 8.5 (1- 10)

My experience with them was it was much easier to release the clip on the end of the flex hose, install the two ends of the "S" but don't tighten, and bend gently until it all lines up. Then re-install the hose clip and finish tightening with your wrenches. :D John

Brake Line Kit

Post by ocwd »

I used a brake line kit from Midwest Military. It was a perfect fit.

I ONLY NEEDED THE S LINES, THEY CAME FROM WALCKS AND THEY FIT PERFECT. OILLEAKER AND I USED THE SAME TECHNIQUE AND IT WAS EASY. BTW WALCKS SHIPS ORDERS OVER 150.00 NO CHARGE. (IT'S NOT HARD TO BUILD A 150.00 ORDER IN THIS HOBBY) RICK
