timing cover, oil fitting striped

on my timing cover the oil fitting is striped. it looks as it is part of the cover. is there any way to fix, tap? please let me know if anyone has any tricks

Is it still on the motor / jeep?

if not you can get a new fitting and braze it on the timing over... it needs to be an inverted flare fitting to assist in stopping leaks...
