M38 Question About Rear Bed divots

What Were the 3 relief divots that are located in the bed used for?

If you're talking about the two just behind the
front seats, they could be foot rests. I don't
know about a third one.

They acommodate the civvy rear seat mounting feet. The M38 tub rear floor was also used for the CJ3A. The civvy seat mounts to the floor.
