Guys
I have just taken fording valves apart and the leather washers inside have perished to oblivion. I have checked over here in the UK but cannnot find any outlet in order to replace them. Is there anywhere States side that may sell replacements or something I can substitute the older washers with?
Also what medium do you suggest using to prevent drying out of said washers?
Many Thanks
Nic

You can actually take those old leather washers to your nearby equestrian and saddlery shop and have some new ones punched out of new leather.
Old 3 in 1 oil or any quality sewing machine oil works well as does 20 weight engine oil..
