Post by Cacti_Ken »

Would someone mind taking a photo for me with some measurements of the inside and outside details of their air intake crossover tube.
thanks

Ken,

I just spent an hour looking for mine. I need to get things a little more organized or draw myself a map of where everything is so I can find things more easily! :?

Are you going to make one?

I know John Bizal at Midwest Military has some reproductions for sale.

Are they as good as the under hood battery box he has?

If I had a good photo and maybe some dimensions I think I can modify the model I have.

The pipe above is John's $55 repop. Looks pretty good.

Your Yahoo Photo link doesn't work but I am assuming you have the shorter M38A1 tube you wish to modify.

Wes I don't know why you can't view the photo, sorry. I picked on the link and didn't have a problem. The crossover tube I have is longer 9-3/4 inches, and has one connection for the oil filler tube to vent to. I think it maybe for an earlier model jeep. Anyway a member has sent me some photos Maybe I can modify the one I have, I don't know yet. I can cut it down and silver solder fittings to it.

My nephew had a cj2a and I believe the one I have came from his jeep. When I was at my brothers one day talking about my jeep, he had a few parts in a bucket and the tube was one of them. He gave the stuff to me.
I'll have to clean it up and see if there are any markings on it to be sure.

Can you tell me the length of the M38 tube.
