Acquired another M38A1. Very original. Bubba added a CB radio & winch and that is all. In a barn since 1981!
Asking for help to date it? Serial number plate reads "MD 49830" Engine is "MD 21370". There is likely a section covering this on the forum but unsure.
Has early 45 degree fender seam & multi thumb screw batteries cover.
More questions to follow.
Thanks,
Jim

She runs!
Two days cleaning fuel system: tank to carb, and ignition system: switch to plugs and she starts right up. Sitting since 1981! That is why I enjoy these old trucks...Even the b/o lights are working. Will address brakes over Christmas.
Of note there are no grille support rods (firewall to grille) or any sign of ever having them?
Thanks for any comments about possible year built???

MD49830 is a May 1953 unit. The engine is not likely to be original. Serial is too low.
