Reverse problem

Post by jeepsteryellow »

Please help. My father in law was backing his 52 out of the shop and when he stepped in the clutch it stopped like he applied the brakes. Only does it in reverse and if you let the clutch out a bit it, but not enough to move the vehicle, it isn’t in a bind any more. It worked fine a couple of months ago. Thanks Always told him my 44 mb was the better unit.

Does the brake pedal move a little when you depress the clutch pedal as if they are bound together on the shaft? I have seen that happen from being dry or mechanicaly bound. It could be enough to make the brakes drag just a bit. That's the simplest thing I can think of.
