Hi to everybody,
at first I want to introduce myself. I´m a 46 y.o. guy from Germany. My dream always was to have once a Willys Jeep.
Now I have one. I nearly know nothing about Jeeps and bought some weeks ago an 1951 M38. In the meantime I found out that it´s a mixture between an CJ-2A and an M38. Sold as an M38. This is what I learned. And that he is working on 6 Volts. Some of the owners after US Military (Swiss Army, one private guy from Swisserland, one german owner..) did a downgrade to 6 Volt. Never mind. What I want you to ask is (I still have the original flasher in a box), are the installed bulbs working on 6 Volt. Imprinted is: "US 1683 Taiwan"? I would like to replace them and the body housing because they are waterproof.
Thank you for helping me and please excuse my bad english, I´m not a native speeker , I`m on school level only.
Kind regards
Herrmann_Sherman

your translation is nearly perfect
Attached you will find 2 pictures of my M38/CJ-2A mixture.
Remember, I know that not everything is original but I´m working on it . But because of financial resources I will not change everything.
Most of people do not know and I will not tell em...
Furthermore I´m collecting WW2 US Helmets and the Jeep is a nice add-on
Yes, some other things too. But the hood is a "modified" M38. On the inside you can see that one of the owners before closed the hole for the air filter. I´ll try to change the flasher to the M38 flasher but I need yellow glasses (still have the white ones).
And so on....the chassis is also a mixture but to get a "better one" was to expensive for me.
Very nice looking jeep!
I think Wes will say this better but the key for enjoying the jeep is what you want to do with it. If you want a vehicle to win competitions and show off, that's one approach. Or, a vehicle that you enjoy regularly, driving around, and is functional and looks great is another.
Just my input but the jeep looks great as it is!
Well, thank you whydahdvr. I just want to change a little bit (only what makes sense). Here in Germany only the collectors will know what´s right or wrong. But these cars are so rarely....
@wesk...thank you for the link. It makes me wonder how cheap the prices are in U.S. This is the signal lens that I want. But I think the problem is shipping to Germany. Nevertheless, with your information I found a seller in Germany Now I only have to change the bulb fitting for 6 Volt.
Another question I have...does anybody know from which military vehicle the attached blackout is? It is from the pool of unknown pieces which I´ve got from the seller of my M38 ...
