Sadly I´m a owner of a mixture between an M38 and an CJ-3A. What I want you to ask is the following. The gas tank is very filthy. A mixture between rust and beige color (flaking). Constandly the fuel system is jammed (every 2 miles). It seems that I need a new tank.
I´m not sure about the fuel sending unit. If I decide to replace the Cj-3A with an M38 tank will the fuel sending unit (CJ) get fit into the M38 tank? Does anybody know?

The fastener holes are arranged differently. Also the filler port is much larger in diameter.
