New C-shackles, poor quality

I just got 4 new c shackles and if I remeber right 3 of them are not parallel. I have read of others having had this problem to but that NOS sometimes came that way as well. What gives? Why cant they make em straight? Anyone have a sugesstion on straightening them? I see nothing but trouble trying to return them just to get more of the same. I may look into cleaning up the original cores and use the new seals and threaded barrels from the new junk that came from India.

you do realize they make a left and right in those right? Correct spring shackles are not straight they have a twist in them .

Ya I got 2 LH (FL and RR) and 2 RH (FR and LR)
For real on the twist? Why?

articulation of the spring movement the shackles flex with the spring. thats about the best way I know to describe it, just make sure you get the right shackles in the right places or things will get nasty in a hurry when installing them ( I learned this the hard way once upon a time).

They weren't perfectly square when new.

By left the meaning is two of the four shackles have a single arm with left hand threads.

A little nomenclature review. The four springs are mounted to the frame with a pivot bolt on one end and a shackle assembly on the other. It is the shackle assembly that comes in two flavors. All RH threads on both legs and one left hand thread on a single leg. Left equals drivers side and right equals passenger side. So the right front and left rear springs get the shackles with RH threads on both legs.

The left front spring shackle and the right rear spring shackle use the U bolts with one RH threaded leg and one LH threaded leg..

Now keep in mind that the 4 shackle assemblies have two threaded legs each for a total of 8 threaded legs. Only two of the eight legs are threaded left hand. These left hand threaded legs go into the left front spring shackle eye and the right rear spring shackle eye. The RH threaded legs of these two U bolts go into the frame bracket eyes.
