1st I assume I have original u-bolts to my M38. The ones I have are flattened out where they round the axle tubes. Are these original? I'm looking to replace them with the same if so. Anyone know who would supply these type? A few sites have pics but as you look closer, some just use the same picture for all they sell.
Thanks
Proper Ubolt supplier

I replace only if they have damage, are bent excessively or show severe bolt stretch.

I just saw these flat top u-bolts readymade from one of the parts vendors at a realistic price just recently. I have also always been told to replace them too. Just playing it safe I guess.
I have never had any fail in use but I have had a few axle u-bolts snap violently while removing them as the previous owner over torqued the fasteners.
