I have written in my engine Godevil this numbering above the water pump:
1MB42343
Who can tell me something about this engine?
thanks

Which block casting do you have. The original MB WWII blocks were 638632 and the MB serials were on the top right side under the oil filter bracket. The large flat above the water pump was introduced with the post war civvy 641087 castings. I would suspect either your block was a postwar engine change on an MB that used a postwar supplied civvy 641087 casting or an attempt by a later civilian owner to match numbers by adding the MB serial to the flat above the water pump himself.
