M38a1 circuit breakers

Post by swordmd »

Why do M38A1's have no circuit breakers? The only one I can find is the one that came with the heater kit. My M38's had 3-4 each and my M37 has them. Also all the newer M-vec. have them. Why not the M38A1?

That was a period when the Army felt an unnecessary nuisance trip of a circuit breaker was not wanted in combat. The late M38 dropped all the circuit breakers and the newer light switch had one built in. The M38A1 and M170 just continued the same program. My 54 M37 has circuit breakers also. But the M37B1 that came out in 58 dropped all but the horn CB.
