Dana 25 Front Axle "Vents"????

Post by Adam_M38 »

Are there "vents" on the back side of the Dana 25 axle (next to the sockets)? If so, mine are all messed up from a previous owners weld stick, and I'm not sure how I will fix them. They look like they use to be threaded with some type of nut on them. Hard to tell for sure beneath the globs of weld stick on mine. Can someone send a picture of what they should look like?

Thanks,

Adam,
I emailed you some photos. The front Mdl 25 axle is vented thru a capped fitting on the front cover near the top driver's side. It is masked by the tie rod. There are grease fitting installed in the holes used to fill the front hubs with grease, gear oil or knuckle pudding when needed. The outboard in the axle tube vent fitting are found on some rear axles.
