My L-134 was professionally built and has not been run yet.
The work was done summer 2010. Head and block were
magna-fluxed before any work was done and no problems
found. Block was decked and head resurfaced.
All head studs were replaced. I've got coolant seepage at
the #1 (in torque sequence) head stud. The builder tells me
that sealants may dry some if the engine is not brought to
operating temps (this motor has been idle for a year) and
seepage on flatties is not uncommon till the motors are run.
He suggested to remove the nut, apply a dose of #3 permatex
then re-torque.. THOUGHTS?? (i'm sick of leaks)..

Remove the stud, clean the threads both on the stud and in the block and coat the stud with any quality thread sealant like Permatex #1 and re-install the stud and re-torque the nut. Then do a complete torque check on the remaining nuts.
