1942 gpw passenger seat

Post by futureuncertain »

I just bought a 1942 gpw in parts. It came with a seat that I have not seen before (I have not started searching). The driver seat looks the same as plenty I have seen before, but the passenger seat is different. It is made to be bolted down. It has a left leg that has a tab going to the left. It is not like others I have seen that can pivot or move. The data plates read 4 14 42. Is this seat original??

The transfer case is serial numbered but does not match the data plate. The motor is not serial numbered.

I will probably only keep the motor, transmission and transfer case. They are replacements and not ford it seems. The tube will probably end up in the scrap yard as it is rusted to $&%. Only the firewall and cowl (I think) look to be somewhat decent. The other stuff can be sold. The frame looks really good with only a couple spots that need attention. It is F marked in several places. I also have a flat bar that is bolted to the brake master cylinder that has the F. I can't find the F on the other parts (yet?). I guess they will end up on ebay. Can anyone give me a ballpark price on the F marked pieces??

Thanks

Is that left leg with the tab facing left the front leg and is it a lot shorter than the rest? If so, it sounds like a drivers seat for a M38A1.
