I had to do the plugs on my wifes Expedition and the whole time I was thinking "what the $&% were they thinking". The two rear plugs are about a foot past the firewall under the dash.
They must have designed it that way so you have to take it in. Got it done but it wasn't easy.
Sorry about the rant.
My wifes Ford makes me appreciate my Jeep even more.

I once had a new Ford Aerostar Van. The valve cover gaskets went bad every 27000 miles. 12 hours labor at that time plus 50.00 for the gaskets. I let them leak. Took me 55 minutes to change the headlight square bulb assembly. You couldn't see the plugs on the RH bank. I was so disgusted I sold it. Had it 4 years: 19,600.00 new, 4500.00 selling value. Last new car I will ever buy. Later I found out that they were known to have a flawed head that cracked. The newer Aerostars had a improved head. Now for the good part: the improved head would not fit the older engines, you had to buy the old style and expect them to crack!!!!!! Let's see, a new Ram diesel pickup 64,000.00, insurance, full coverage--------NOT! Think of all the nice slat grills and GP's you could own that don't go down in value-------schools out

Depreciation is why the Expedition sits outside and the A1 sits inside. It was hard to convince my wife until I showed her the numbers. This last year my Jeep became more valuable than the Expedition and this next year will double the Expedition.
It's a nice feeling knowing that every turn of the wrench adds value. With the Ford, every turn of the wrench costs me a bloody knuckle.
