When a heater is added to a M38a1 where do they put the air intake scoop? In a CJ5 it's mounted in the grill.

It doesn't duct air in to the blower. It using ambient air under the hood.

The gas heater also does not duct air to the blower.
In both installations the blower is up just behind the right head light bucket.
