Clutch and brake pedals
One thing that I have noticed while trolling through M38 and M38A1 photos that there is a fairly common occourence of getting the clutch and brake pedals mixed up.
Correct me if i am wrong but should not the raised lips on the pedal pads be closes to each other?
An exaple of the wrong way is shown in the photos of that M38 prison jeep currently listed in the forsale section.

Well thats what I said... but I guess the way to describe it best is:-
the raised lip on the clutch pedal is on the right hand side of the pad where the brake pedal its on the left hand side of the pad.

If the pedals of the M38 are the same as the CJ3A, here are the dimensions and position of the lips.

Upturned lips on the side closest to the steering column and down on opposite ends.
The brake pedal is wider than the clutch pedal, and the position of the clutch shaft is not in the center of the pedal.

We will need to double check CJ3A vs M38 dimensions per the link to home made pads and the dimensions. My brake is a replacement and is the same as the clutch. Both are narrow. If you run a wide brake pedal it interferes from you lifting your foot off the accelerator.
Worst case your foot gets stuck under the edge of the brake pedal.
