What is diameter of fuel line going into fuel pump on CJ3A?

Post by Jordan »

Is fuel line going into the fuel pump 1/8" or 1/4"? My fuel line (rom my tank between my frame rails in the rear) is 5/16" so I've got to reduce going into the fuel pump. Need to make sure I get the size right and I can't tell just looking at the female compression 90 degree on the fuel pump.

Thanks,

Jordan

The fuel line on mine, which was original, is 1/4 inch. The threads going into the pump body itself are 1/8 inch pipe thread. If you stay 1/4 all the way, you need 1/4 inch inverted flare on the brass. Are you measuring ID or OD of the pipe? Hard plumbing or pipe fittings are ID ,Tubing is OD. So, bendable tubing would be measured on the outside diameter. The ends are double flared like brake line tubing. Inverted flare brass fittings accept this type tubing ends. Hope this helps, John
