Generator question

Post by danrothe2001 »

I have found a Prestolite generator number GHA4804UT. I would like to use it on an M38A1, but the parts book only shows an Autolite and a Delco generator. Does anyone know if it will work and what the original application is?

Prestolite bought out most of Auto-Lite in 1957. It is simply a later production Late 50's early 60's of the same generator.

My generator tag says GHA4804 CUT. What does the "C" in the tag mean? Is this an overhaul or conversion code?
