Hello guys: i just aquired a Clarc aviation crimp set, which is the same as the military terminals used in our M vehicles. Its an MS 25037 like this one:

I tried to crimp a terminal with this tool but i could have driven over the terminal with a tank to the same result. Its racheting that is you can press it but not release it before a certain point.
Any help and recomendations apreciated since i have no clue and dont want to destroy more of the rare terminals.
Wrong crimper for the crimps you are doing... That crimper is used for wire spade type lugs... the ones that go under screws or teminal boards...
I have one and works great for that...
The crimper you need crimps four points around the pin and then the pin is soldered on to the wire... or if you have a good grade of solder and proper iron you can just solder the pins on to the wire...
Yes, but you must be carefull on insuring the tool you purchase is correct for the wire size terminals you are using. Some are used on many different connector sizes and some are used on only a couple of sizes. Some are adjustable for crimp size and some also have locater accessories to insure you are crimping in the correct position on the terminal.
Oh yeah, Rick, I am aware of this treasure.I took me years to get these parts actually. In Germany, before internet, it was almost impossible to obtain info and rare parts. Now, thanks to guys like here on Willys M, things change.
For you guys over in EUrope ( US of course too or wherever) Just thought you have these parts anyway via surplus dealers etc.
Also be aware if you are buying a used crimp tool that all four ratcheting sections are functional. I bought a used one where only three of them worked.
