ring gear/pinion

ANOTHER SETBACK on my rear differential ring gear and pinion, the builder ask me to find a set of 5.38 gears for the rear of my a1. well i thought i did, an nos set. he calls today and said the ring gear was to small for the rear. im understanding the front and rear on the a1 is 5.38 gear ratio,

?- is the rear ring gear and pinion larger than the front,
?- does anyone have the dimension for the front and rear.
