Cooling Fan

Post by Cacti_Ken »

Does the cooling fan differ from early model jeeps to the M38?

Can someone show me a picture of the cooling fan for the M38. I am not sure if the one I have is correct

Thanks Apatriot, I don't think the one I have here is military type. It does not look like yours.

Ken,

I am away from my fan blade, but I wouldn't through that one out just yet.

Have you compared it with photos from the engine rebuild manual?

Ryan I looked for a picture in the manual but didn't find one with full view of fan blade. I'm not going to discard the blade I have. I will certainly need it if I don't find a correct one.

If you look in TM9-804,on page 115,fig.30 and page 116,fig.31,show the type i have.i have not found any other versions, although your blade is clearly a military model.
I just am not sure for what model.

The early civvy L134 fans have 4 seperate blades riveted to a flat center plate instead of what you have in your photo.

I called Archer Brothers today to see if they had a good used one. Dave to me they had just torn down one of thier warehouses and shipped a crate of blades to Ron fitzpatrick. he probably hasn't got them yet.

I ordered one from Brent today. He said it was packaged for G740.

New cooling fan mounted. Photo is a little dark. Flash doesn't work on camera.

Ken,

that looks good!

Seeing the two different fans together on the same thread makes it a little more obvious now.

Ken,
What's the serial number on your engine? Do I have an L134 survey from you?

Yes Wes you have my engine data. I sent you photos of it once up on a time when it was painted royal blue. MC79963
