Hello: Any recommendations on rear pinion nut torque? I did punch mark the nut & pinion before disassembly. I have placed a new pinion seal and was wondering if I should tighten to punch marks or to a specific torque?

The manuals give a spec of 200 to 220 Ft Lbs when setting the pinion but the manual does not give any specific torque figure when re-installing the nut after installing the seal.
The standard torque for a 3/4 x 16 threaded nut is 150-184 Ft Lbs.

By whom?
I have reused the original nuts for over 45 years without a single failure.
