I thought I would share a couple of pics from today - another milestone in my resto. Dave (Pizzoferrato) from Weebee Webbing (Pizzoferrato Ent.) came down and picked up his M416 today and brought my new winter enclosure (minus doors). As soon as he left, I pulled the Jeep out of the shop and started throwing this thing on - one of the last finishing touches! I didn't put the side curtains on - no plans to yet. One day when I'm bored I'll put them on (I have to put the footman loops on too). I still have a few minor things left to do + I still have to line the body up so that the hood fits right an shoot the final coat of 24087. Then I can put the unit markings on her. I got a little mud on the tires (as the song goes) yesterday when I took my parents for a ride. Thanks for the top Dave - it's great and just one of the finishing touches she needed!
I couldn't stand it - had to try my side curtains on:
And I notched my license plate bracket so that the gas can strap could go through, painted it to hide it, and put the spare back on (still need to put one of my old NDCCs on for the spare - kills the look like it is!).
I was going to wait until the very last thing to give her her identity back, but I figured she was far enough along to do it now!
Thanks guys! And yes - I had mud on the tires the day after I got them put on - she loves crawling through the stuff (I pull the hand throttle out 2 notches and let her eat with no problems for a slow cruise down the old logging road!)
Yea, that looks fantastic. You should be proud of what you have accomplished. Gives me hope that mine can get finished this year. Of course you know that it's never really done. There's always something else that you want to do to it. lol
You did a fantastic job on your jeep! Looks really great! There's nothing like getting out on the ground and using them like they were designed for.

Thanks again guys! I set a goal to have it (almost) completely done by the end of June, so that I can have the bugs worked out for the October Steel Soldiers rally in Georgia - looks like I might make it!
She old and slow, but I'm getting that way too - I like to cruise now days, more than speed around. Going slow gives everybody else a chance to check her out as you pass by them though. I have yet to take her to a gas station - I'm sure that will be an adventure. Someone said that newer Jeeps are chick magnets and old Jeeps are old man magnets - that's ok with me, as old men are more interesting to talk to!
