my local tax/tag office is totally lost in trying to help me get a title for my 52 M38....they don't have a clue about how to work a non-titled vehicle....anybody got any ideas?... have gone through the search engine on this forum & can't find anything....thanks for any help :x

Should probably be buried in your state statutes somewhere... honestly, if the office can't figure it out, tell them to cut you a title and registration and run with it. If the state can't figure out how to do it's own job......

You are spinning your tires searching here for an answer to how to registered a used jeep with no title in Mississippi. Just google up the Mississippi State laws on motor vehicles and as they said in the 60's "Let your fingers do the walking!" :wink:

I imagine that the small tax offices in Mississippi are no different than our small tax offices here in Texas. If they haven't dealt with it before they don't know how to do or what the options are. I have found, at least in this state that if you call the State Motor Vehicle Division that regulates registration and trains the tax offices that they are very helpful. In Texas the main state office in Waco always seems to have competent people who are interested in finding the right answer. Hopefully the Mississippi version of the MVD is worth your time.

used car friend of mine said a 1952 M38 would be classified as a non-titled vehicle & sent me to Farm Bureau for a title-bond $60 & the serial # is supposed to get me a title...will keep everyone up to date...thanks
