Post by DFoley »

Hello all,
I think I have reached the end of my 1951 M38 restoration. Yes, I supposed it is true one never truely finishes a restoration, but at this point any further work is simply minor repairs and maintenance as a results of use. I put this vehicle together to be used. In fact I use this jeep as my primary vehcile, at least when the weather is nice. The lastest update to the vehcile, which I have been working on for years was the winch setup. I finished that about a month or so ago. Take a look at the photos, I would love to get y'alls opinions, good or bad.
Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

That is certainly a sharp M38, you should be proud! Ahh, I would love to ride one around in such landscape.

Question.....where did you get the windshield vent seal?

Greg,
It has been so long ago, I simply cannot remember...it must have been from one of the major jeeps part guys thoughs. It seems as though I have spent enough money with these guys over the years to finance a nice house remodel, but then again anybody can remodel there kitchen, not everybody is driving around a restored 1951 M38 Willys. I think it was worth every last cent.
Thanks,
Dan

Beautiful job Dan.

The M38 that I am restoring is what I drove around on the hunting lease about 25 miles north of Del Rio off the hiway going to Rock Springs in the late 90's.
I hope to get mine like yours soon.

Dan,
Fine looking M38. I noticed your carb bowl vent is not vented to the inlet tube and your distributor cooling line from the wiper "T" to the distributor is missing.
