M38A1 value???

Post by puppy »

Long story short. This M38A1 is in a local salvage yard.

I believe this is a restorable M38A1. What is it worth as is? It is all there except the windshield. And no title.

While I am not a huge fan of the A1 body style, I know others are. How do the A1's sell?

Impossible to quote a value without a lot more photos and some detailed examination.

Figure $250 to $750. Could be higher if engine turns, all 24 volt electrics are there and rust is not serious.

Notice that most of us show our state in the location section of our profiles so folks don't have to ask where you are located.

Location updated.

I am probably gonna end up with it and part it out. I know. I know.

I need the bumperettes, lift shackles, pins, 1 shackle bracket, and the wheels for my M38.

cover

Post by capescw »

There is a small one, approx 6x12, an upper, close to the firewall, and a larger one that goes around all 3 levers, about 2 ft x 2 ft. That's the one Image

It's common to the M38. M38A1, and M170. PM me with a suggested price (assuming it's not shot).

Thanks

Bill

Yeah, I scrapped that one with the rusty tub - all I have left is the small one that goes around the tranny shifter. Sorry.

Looks pretty complete - you're still going to end up putting at least a couple grand in her if it's not real rusty. I would say shes worth restoring (if shes not real rusty). I would still say 5 - $750 unless you really wanted her. Just my opinion though - we're heart for advice and support.

I need a junk yard like this here in germany.
Complete her with a windshild and some other small parts and save her for restoration. There is many scrap around that can be parted out.
Get the parts for your M38 otherwise.

Is this a civil Defense sign on the hood?
