M38 0r M38A1 door frame?

Post by oilleaker1 »

Bought a CJ2A and the guy asks if I want some old doors that were with it. Not one, but two sets of military door frames that have hinges so you can take the OD covers off and fold them. I need a set for my '51 M38, but don't know if they work on both the M38 and M38 A1. I don't have pictures, but if you do I'll compare with mine. Would also trade or do a deal on the other set for you Green Disease guys! I know they are hard to find. I didn't find any topics with the search, so don't yell at me! John

M38 and M38A1 frames are different...

Dave at WeeBee says the M-38A1are wider than the M-38...

I just ordered and installed my M-38 doors...

The upper door frames have different angles for the windshield.

Since I don't have a M38 ready to test fit them, I'm going to test them on my M38A1 and see . Duh, don't know why I didn't think of that earlier. That should answer the question. I'll report back later, thanks, John

They fit the first series M38 and are not even close to a A1. Time to order door covers and side curtains from Beachwood to match my top  John
