My M38A1's crankshaft has some minor pitting on the rear seal sealing surface, can this be repaired or is it easier to replace with a re-manufactured crank? If repairs are in order, suggestions or referrals on who does this would be great, preferable in the AZ area.
thanks

Any competent automotive machine shop can either polish the seal journal smooth if the pits are not deeper then the allowable spec or they can build the surface of the journel back up by welding more material on and then regrind and polish the journal. You must look through your local yellow pages for Machine shop, automotive or google automotive machine shops arizona. Then contact each and ask their capabilities and if they can do it get a quote.
