What is the lead from the generator wire

attached to? I installed the lever on/off switch, instead of the keyed ignition I formerly had. The keyed ignition had a battery post, an "accessory post" that I had the in dash gauges and heater hooked up to, and an "on" post that I had the lead in from the distributor and generator hooked up took. The previous keyed ignition had two terminals, the battery and everything else. I ran fine with the keyed ignition, but hooking it up to the levered on/off switch, I have no place to put the generator. I thought it might go to the battery lead, but it's grounded and drains the battery.

What are the wire numbers on your lever type military switch?

If you remember, my military lever doesn't have numbers. Using the diagram I got from you Wes, this is how I have it hooked up

I initially had it hooked into the A & C leads with the battery, and it drained the battery

Either B or D will work just fine for the generator field power.

Thanks. Hooked it all up, recharged my battery, and everything is working fine. I just got some jack stands, so hopefully next week I'll get that back differential cover off and count the gears.

Should I not hook it up to D? I had it hooked up to C, and it was draining the battery.
