Windshield measurement

Post by gamillerman »

Can someone give me the measurement from the back top center of the windshield to the front edge of the tailgate for an M38. I need to do some straighting of mine and need a good measurement to try and get it correct. I have seen the measurement for an MB/GPW on the web but I am not sure if its the same.....thanks

Did you get a measurement?

The angle of the windshield frame "legs" might be a better mearurement.

I'll see what I can do for you.

Try this basic measurement first. Lay a straight edge on the tub rail behind the driver's seat and extend that line to below the top edge of the windshield. Adjust the windshield tilt forward or aft to obtain the height of 28 11/16". This will work for no top setups. When you add a top then match the top of the windshield to the top as required.

Please note this is a CJ3A drawing with 6.00x16 tires so don't use any height measurements that include tire height.
