Anybody out there have a halfway decent rear floor (M38)? I'm in Connecticut.

Alternative solution

Thanks, Rick, and others! I've contracted a local sheet metal shop to build a 'close' replica at a decent cost. I spent the weekend in NY checking two offers, but both were worse than what I pulled out of mine. The cost will be actually lower than a NOS floor.

One I know has them (or did 3 months ago) is Peter Debella on Long Island,

Not cheap, but OK!

I bought one from a different vendor for a M38A1 and a couple things to check are whether it has an additional support channel near the machine gun support plate. I had to remove that to get the tub to set down on the frame. Wish I would have noticed that before the floor was welded in. I saw the extra support but thought it was to keep the floor from caving in like the original. I also though it would clear the plate.

Also, the pre-drilledholes for the mounting bolts in the floor were not squared off for the carriage bolts and were larger than the stock tub. And there was a couple extra pre-drilled holes out by the rear seat mounts for some reason. Otherwise the pattern was the same.

I have had good luck with reproduction body parts from Classic Enterprises. I am in need of a new rear floor and they are one that I will contact. I also know that Midwest Military makes some repo parts and the ones I have got from them have been of very good quality but I haven't contact John about rear floors to see if he does them.
