Battery Bracket paint color

Hi all-

I have another question regarding the issued color of battery hold down brackets. The interior of my bat boxes are still black covered by OD covered by USMC overspray but the hardware is rusted with no paint showing.

Was the hardware black or OD when it was delivered to the various military forces?
