I found a 1943 jeep at a neighbors.

I haven't gotten close to it yet but will today or tomorrow. Owner said the motor had been gone through and it purred like a kitten. It has always lived inside. He restores cars and tractors. Has restored 47 tractors in the last few years. Most of them go to museums. He said the jeep was a civilian jeep. Could that be true. What would be the difference? I'll look to see if its Willys or ford. He said he would sell it to me but has no idea how much. I'll post more info on it when I get up close. I'm excited. Have been thinking if building a rat patrol jeep with machine gun in back. :D

If it was built in 1943 it's a MB or GPW. If it's a civilian jeep IE CJ2A produced from 1945 thru 48 then someone has fiddled with the title.

So if it is a 1943 it is an MB Willys or a Ford. No other option. Perfect. Thank you. I hope it's an MB. Now I have to figure out what it's worth and come up with a price to offer him.

 went to see it and its not an MB. I think it's a CJ -2A that was turned into a hunting rig many years ago. Sheet metal half cab with the doorways cut down to the floor, insulated with gun racks and a big 6000 lb pto winch up front. Battery was dead so I didn't hear it.
Well it was exciting for a while.
