Body mount kit question.

Post by Ryan »

I recently ordered a body mount kit for my M38 from a jeep vendor and what I got in seemed way thicker that what came out of my jeep. I have 12 3/4" cushions and 6 1/2" cushions and all the bolts washers and nuts.

This seems way thicker that what came off of the jeep a few years ago.

My main question is whether this will work or not. This is not a show qualitty jeep just one to drive for fun. So im mainly interested if this will work for me.

My main concern was the grill and fenders lining up. Has anyone used one of these kits before? Its an omix ada item.

I am afraid I can't help you on sizes BUT I had a simialr experience and scratched my head as you are now doing.
I think my old spacers had squished down over the years, in the end every thing fit OK.
All the best,
Dave

M38 Spacers are 3" x 1 1/2" rubber and are in a couple of thicknesses... (3/16"; 1/8"; 1/4") there is a whole section in th SNL on the tub mounting, all hardware and spacers are listed... Section 1801

I was able to go to a local rubber shop and buy all my rubber in bulk from his scrap pile... cut it with a good sharp boxknife and drilled the holes with a drill or if you have a grommet kit the little hole cutter works wonders...

Hope this helps...

I had the same problem with my M38 and M38A1...They will squish down over time..as over a year now I just re-tightened the ones on my M38 a couple turn of the nuts is all it took..
