On/Off switch

Hi, I recently bought an On/Off switch for my M38A1. It has three wires on the back, and is a three position switch (you can "click" it twice. Is this correct? I was thinking that it should be a two positon switch (on or off). Thanks, Kendall

It's a two single pole switch. One click. On/Off. One wire is from the voltage regulator power output and the other two are used one to lighting power and one to ignition coil.
