M38 Cowl battery box removal
I have been poking at the body removing anything that comes off, I don't seem to be able to figure out this battery box though, it will come loose a bit on the solid side but the split side won't move and I cannot see any bolts etc holding it, what am I missing please?

It is welded in place at the cowl... actually spot welded to the lip around it...
It does not come off... Normally...
You have to work around it...
Hope this helps...

In this photo of an old box cut from the cowl you can see 4 spot welds along the top edge.

Here you can see 2 of the spot welds.
You drill out these spot welds on all four sides at the top of the box then unbolt the dash brackets, remove wires from circuit breaker trio if early M38 and remove any drain tubes/hoses or straps between the front of the box and the firewall.

Thanks, I will look for the welds later today.
I am pretty sure my box is in the other way around with the seam to the firewall. Could be because it is CDN.

Well finally got it out, there were 6 spot weld on the engine side, 3 on the passenger side and one on the firewall down near the bottom, that one was a pain till I realised it was there. and I misremembered how the lid was, it does open towards the engine.
Thanks for the assist.
