Hello:
So i have faced my exhaust manifold and ready to install. I have military surplus gaskets..
Question, is it recommended to use high temp silicone on gaskets? Also is there a torque value for mounting nuts..

The exhaust ports do not get any sealers!!!!! They were never meant to have any sealers on them. Those that endorse it's use are band aid mechanics.
Are you using the correct brass nuts on the exhaust manifold?
Do you have your copy of the TM 9-8014 M38A1 operator's manual?
If you don't then download it from our downloads page. The information you seek is right in that book. Pages 116, 117 and 164.
