bumperette & pintle hook mounting bolt help

Post by smokey1 »

Hello. Have a M38A1 in off-site storage and would like to order new bolts, washers, nuts for both the rear bumperette and pintle hook mounting bolts. Hoping to find Yellow/zink plated fasteners even though they might not be original.

Can anyone tell me what bolt size and length each require? This would be most helpful so I can arrive and install this weekend without several lengthy trips to/from the storage facility.

After a lengthy delay, the 53' project is starting back up. Frame up, restro begins..

Tried a search function first, so hoping this subject title helps others going forward.

Check out the ORD 9 which you can download from here.

For the Pintle hook its under Frame and Brackets subgroup 1503 Pintle and towing attachments. Its page 269-270. 4 of each
BOLT, mach, 1/2-20NF-3 x 2
NUT, plain, hex, s-fin, light, S, cd- or zn-pltd, 1/2-20NF-2
WASHER, lock, med, S, cd- or zn-pltd, 1/2 in.

For the bumperettes its under Bumpers and Guards page 358. 4 of each

NUT, hex, It, s-fin, S, cd- or zn-pltd, 1/2-20NF-2
SCREW, cap, hex-hd, S, cd- or zn-pltd, 1/2-20NF-3 x 1.
WASHER, lock, med, S, cd- or zn-pltd, 1/2 in

All the abbreviations in the listings are spelled out in the beginning of the ORD 9. I learned very quickly the ORD 9 is where to go when looking for this information. It has helped me out a lot.
