WTK. About color shovel

Hi Guys,
I want to restore the shovel of my m38A1, I saw differents photos with different colors ( OD, varnish, red ). I was wondering what color should I paint it.

Choose the color you like. The military supply system stocked them both in natural wood with/without varnish and OD.

I say go natural steel and natural wood and a good rubbing of boiled linseed oil.
