switch horn

Hello again. I've solved the problem of the dampers. Aha abajaoer if the inner rod goes arribora I get the horn system. I see many pictures, but not quite clarify.
I need to know if the inner rod goes up and down, as the system goes below the steering box. Exploded with photos and references to purchase.

The horn rod inside the steering column goes through a tube in the steering box and pushes down on a switch button on the horn switch. The horn switch screws into the bottom of the steering box. The horn button depending on style - rubber with an adujustable plate screwed onto the end of the horn push rod for later M38 and M38A1.

You should also tell us what model jeep you have? M38 or M38A1 or M170 or M606 or CJ2A or CJ3A????

Sorry Wesk.Yo have a M38. The manual is downloaded and I think it's all more or less clear. In Spain we have a proverb that says: But a picture is worth a thousand words. I would help some more pictures to the manual technique. Anyway thanks a million to all.

The M38 has an early solid horn button steering wheel and a late rubber horn button steering wheel.

There is also an early steering column/mast that is not well sealed and a later sealed column.

There is an early light weight steering gear box and later heavy weight steering gear box.

The horn button push rod can be installed from either the bottom or the top. I believe bottom is recommended and easiest.

There is a hollow tube at the very bottom of the gear box that the rod passes through. It is a light press fit and should have sealer applied to the head at the bottom when it is installed into the gear box.

Th switch is threaded into the bottom of the gear box and the length of the switch rod travel is adjusted by threading the switch in or out then using the large jam nut to lock the switch.
