Is there a trick to installing the speedometer cable in the M38A1?
In order to reach the back of the gauge the cable has to make a very sharp bend when it comes out of the T90. I have broken two cables at this point and I am thinking that I am installing the cables improperly. How should I be running the cable? What is the proper length of the cable? I'm sick of buying new cables, has anyone run into this same problem? What was your solution?
Thanks in advance!

After it comes out of the D18 transfer case on the right side it goes forward and up and then along the firewall as shown below:

The cable/housing assembly length is 56 3/4".
In TM 9-8014 page 129 Fig 57 shows it leaving the D18 outwards to the frame and then forward.
Try to do your installation from the bottom up.
