Diagram on M-38 headlight bucket assembly?

Post by Jordan »

Can anyone point me in the direction of a diagram for assemblying the M-38 light bucket, including those parts bolted to the grill.

Thanks,

Jordan

In the "Downloads" section of this website you can find the parts, maintenance and operation manuals for the M38. Look up pg. 114 in the parts manual for an exploded view of the headlight bucket.

Guys, I am having trouble figuring out where the springs attach. There don't appear to be any holes. Any guidance is appreciated.

Are you referring to the two coil springs used to tension the lamp for angle adjustment ("V" in illustration above) or the five "W" shaped spring clips that just snap in the door to hold the seal ("Y" in the illustration above.)?

WEs:

The coil springs in tension are the ones I cannot figure out. Where do they hook on to? There don't appear to be any corresponding holes or anchor points. On a clock, with 12:00 being straight up, where would the 2 springs locate and then how?

Thank you,

Jordan

Post a photo of your headlight parts. I am curious weather you have the early 1/4 ton headlight buckets or the larger truck buckets which are interchangeable.
