Ramsey winch

Post by ROBCDN3 »

Hi. I need some info about a PTO driven winch. What is a Ramsey 200L model, and will it fit an M style jeep.
Thanks. Rob

A 200L is a civvy winch. It will fit the m38 but will require mods to the exhaust to run the pto.

The Ramsey Winch, Model 200L is a civvy as bill said but it is a rear mounted winch. No exhaust mods are required. It can be bolted on the M38 but you have to take off the bumperettes. It can be driven with a shaft and u-joints or off of the rear gear box with sprockets and chains.
The L says it is a rear winch, if it was an R it would be a front mounted winch and the mods to the exhaust would be needed if running the civvy PTO.

COOL !! Good catch Larry.

I found a few pages on the 200L Ramsey winch.
I'll scan them in and post a link when done.
Thank you for the education.

Larry, you are correct I forgot the L was the rear mounted winch.
