Air cleaner wing screws

Post by gamillerman »

Does anyone know where I might get the wing screws that attach the air cleaner assy to the firewall brackets. My air cleaner had been removed and I found the 4 screws in the tool box. Needless to say they are rusted beyond any useable condition

That is another one of those hard to locate items.

I fortunately had mine still on my jeep and in usable condition.

I have been looking for a replacement to help out others without much luck so far.

You might try a few of the parts vendors as they buy parts vehicles and sell parts off the jeeps.

Thanks Ryan. Anyone out there have some?........I have a set of NOS tail light repair parts ( replaces everything inside the tail light housing except the small rubber grommets and screws) for the right and left side of M series vehicles. They have all the wiring needed with douglass connectors and the correct wire number tags on the wires. I would swap for 4 of the wing screws.

Not positive, but you might try Northstar Willys in MN, I saw them listed on their website... They do all Willys Jeeps...

Hope this helps...

Thanks to all. They are still listed on Northstar Willys. If I dont come across any used wing screws before I need then I will order from Northstar and will post on how good they match up to the OEM part.

I will ask them this weekend, they are the primary dealer at the Jefferson City, MO event... I leave in the morning, taking my M-38CDN along...

Wes,

No unfortunately, I did that trip at 45 MPH in a snow storm once... Not again...

I will be trailering the Jeep... I drive it regularly all over town, but a trip to Jefferson City, MO is not one I would do in the jeep... The way fools drive I would be in the ditch before going 10 miles... Not because of me, but because of being pushed there...
